Ideas for a killer launch?


With Safe Harbor‘s book launch now set for May 5, I’m tossing around ideas to make it a killer event.

Imajin Books publisher Cheryl Tardif sent his video link as an example of building buzz. I’d absolutely love to do something like this — but I somehow don’t think the folks who run the Rose and Crown would be up for it.

Any other ideas? Ideas that don’t mean hiring a team of actors and stuntmen. And getting clearance from Toronto Police Services and the City of Toronto.

    Hey Rosemary — For my Ottawa launch, we got one of the red lights that sits on the dash in an unmarked police car and plugged that in — it was like having a red strobe light. Very cool! (You can also buy toy ones for about $ 10 from Amazon). I had yellow caution tape strung around everywhere, and we handed out chalk outline cookies to our guests. The rest of my launch was very specific to the Cuban theme of my novel, but I’ll bet you can find tickertape or stuff related to the financial industry to use. Good luck with it! And have fun!
