It’s Day Six of The Whirlwind BLACK WATER Blog Tour, and I’m in Edmonton with author Kat Flannery. Kat asked me about the research that went into BLACK WATER.

Well, creating an imaginary world usually involves some research. Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000040_00071]And crime fiction, in particular, requires some delving into the world of crime. The old adage, “Write what you know,” doesn’t apply to most crime fiction writers. Most of us lead relatively sheltered lives hunkered over our keyboards in quiet spots in our homes. I don’t know any murderers, investment fraudsters, drug dealers or outlaw bikers — at least I don’t think I do — yet all of them appear in BLACK WATER.
