It’s Day Six of The Whirlwind BLACK WATER Blog Tour, and I’m in Edmonton with author Kat Flannery. Kat asked me about the research that went into BLACK WATER.
Well, creating an imaginary world usually involves some research. And crime fiction, in particular, requires some delving into the world of crime. The old adage, “Write what you know,” doesn’t apply to most crime fiction writers. Most of us lead relatively sheltered lives hunkered over our keyboards in quiet spots in our homes. I don’t know any murderers, investment fraudsters, drug dealers or outlaw bikers — at least I don’t think I do — yet all of them appear in BLACK WATER.
Read what I told Kat about my research for BLACK WATER here.
And then hop over to Blogger News where I’m interviewed by Mayra Calvani. She wanted to know all about the writing process — where I get my best ideas (in the bath and shower, I told her), what inspired BLACK WATER, what I think of critique groups…and much more. Read the full interview here.
And then check out The Writer’s Life, where I discuss the importance of point of view in a story or a novel. Click here to read the full post.
BLACK WATER is still 99 cents…for a few more days. Take advantage of this low introductory offer here.
