Wonderful Jack Batten!

Just back from a week at Loyalist College in Belleville where I spent a week at Rosemary Aubert’s annual summer writing workshop. Rosemary talked about the craft of writing, and her 12 students shared their writing experiences and excerpts.

For me, it was a great transition from the book marketing I’ve been doing in recent weeks to some serious writing over the summer.

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000040_00071]On a high after this marvelous week, imagine my delight when I saw Jack Batten’s review of Black Water in The Toronto Star today. He opened with “Here’s McCracken back with her second Pat Tierney novel, writing with wonderful pace and invention.” It doesn’t get much better than this — praise from a crime fiction icon in Canada’s largest daily newspaper!

Check the entire review out here.
