SAFE HARBOR’s 2nd anniversary

Two years ago today, Safe Harbor, my debut mystery novel, was HAND and bookpublished by Imajin Books. It seems like yesterday, but a lot has happened in the past 24 months.

My first Pat Tierney mystery sold well and continues to do so. If fact, Imajin recently announced that I am its #3 bestselling author for the years 2011 through 2013.

Fourteen months later, Safe Harbor‘s sequel, Black Water, was released. Both novels garnered great reviews by The Toronto Star‘s Jack Batten, and acclaim elsewhere.

Pat Tierney has gone on to appear in “The Sweetheart Scamster,” a short story in the Canadian crime fiction anthology, Thirteen, which has just been shortlisted for a Derringer Award.

One of the best things about being an author is meeting readers. On Tuesday evening, I joined three other Mesdames of Mayhem, the writers’ collective that published Thirteen, at a book club in Oakville, Ont., that calls itself The Bloomsbury Group II. The club’s members are delightful women who are are avid readers and interested in everything the Mesdames are up to. They applauded the fact that we’re a “group” because they recognize the power of group dynamics and its reach.

Thank you, ladies, for your hospitality and your interest.

  1. Congratulations on both books. I’ve read both and loved them. Thanks for today’s post. It led me to Derringer award and then on to the magazine All Due Respect made up of crime short stories. Looks like some fun reading.

  2. Thank YOU, Kristina, for following Moving Target!
