This week’s Arthur Ellis Shortlist Event garnered more kudos for Thirteen‘s short stories. Donna Carrick’s “Watermelon Weekend” and Sylvia Maultash Warsh’s “The Emerald Skull” were both named finalists in the short story category!
Melodie Campbell, another Thirteen author, is a finalist in the Arthur Ellis’s novella category for The Goddaughter’s Revenge — and Melodie’s novella won the 2014 Derringer Award for best novella.
My story in Thirteen, “The Sweetheart Scamster,” was a 2014 Derringer finalist in the short story category.
And last week, we heard that another Thirteen author, Vicki Delany, is a finalist for the Bony Blithe Award for light fiction for her novel, Gold Web.
The Crime Writers of Canada’s Arthur Ellis Award winners will be announced on June 5. The winner of the Bony Blithe Award will be announced at the Bloody Words banquet on June 7.
Proud to be part of Thirteen!
