Spring is finally here. Granted, there’s a big patch of snow in my yard and nary a crocus to be seen. But temperatures are gradually rising. I am holding firm to the belief that spring has arrived…and don’t try to talk me out of it!
And with spring, the Mesdames of Mayhem are on the move. The Mesdames, the collective of Canadian crime writers of which I’m a proud member, have a busy spring planned. Four of us–Rosemary Aubert, Madeleine Harris-Callway, Dorothy McIntosh and myself–spoke and read at Toronto’s Jones Avenue Branch this past Thursday evening. We had a great turnout of enthusiastic mystery fans.
And this coming Wednesday, March 25, I’ll join Mesdames Madeleine, Lynne Murphy and Lisa de Nikolits at Toronto’s Signs Restaurant from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for a gala evening of readings, discussion and other mayhem. Signs will have American Sign Language interpreters on hand for their hearing impaired patrons.
Signs is at 558 Yonge St. near Wellesley. There’s no admission charge, but kindly RSVP your attendance to Mary Ellen Koroscil at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Mesdames will be venturing farther afield in coming weeks: Niagara Falls, Bradford and Belleville, to name a few places.
