Today I’m visiting author Sharon A. Crawford on the second day of my whirlwind RAVEN LAKE blog tour. I’m talking about a subject dear to my heart — writing from real life. All writers “borrow” from the people they know and situations they’ve been in when they create their fiction. Some to a greater extent than others. Click here to read more.
Tonight, I’ll be reading from RAVEN LAKE at Noir at the Bar, and I’ll be in some pretty awesome company with Gilles Blunt, Dietrich Kalteis, John McFetridge, Peter McGarvey, June Lorraine Roberts and Dee Wilson.
Bookstores seem to be vanishing and the internet can’t replace the value of in-person author readings. Fortunately for Toronto, authors Rob Brunnet and Tanis Mallow have taken the Noir in the Bar concept that origniated in Philadelphia in 2008 brought it to our city a few years ago. These are evenings with writers who have made it, are in the process of making it and who aren’t there yet. I’ve attended several , but it will be my first time on stage. I’m excited!
